Ricketts Reminds Students about Upcoming U.S. Military Service Academy Nominations Deadline

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) is reminding students of the approaching United State Military Service Academy Nominations deadline of October 15th Nominations from a Congressional representative are required for the United States Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, Military Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy.
“Our nation’s Service Academies push students to achieve excellence, embrace the values of leadership and service, and contribute to the defense of our nation,” Ricketts said. “I’m proud to honor Nebraska’s tradition of military service by nominating talented Nebraskans to attend. I encourage all eligible candidates to apply to our nation’s prestigious Service Academies before the deadline of October 15.”
Candidates interested in receiving a Service Academy Nomination should take the following steps to submit a complete application prior to Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
- Set up an account to complete an application here.
- Complete the questionnaire portion of the application.
- Submit reference materials including ACT/SAT scores, high school transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and proof of application to your selected service academy/academies.
Upon review of completed application materials, applicants may be invited to participate in an in-person interview that will take place this fall. Following the interviews, candidates will be made aware of final nomination decisions no later than January 31, 2025. Learn more at ricketts.senate.gov/AcademyNominations.
