WASHINGTON, D.C. – Recently, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) was honored as a 2024 “Guardian of Small Business” by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his work advancing policies that support America’s small and independent business owners. The award recognized lawmakers for their support of small business owners through legislative action and leadership.
“Small businesses are critical to the economic vitality of communities across Nebraska,” Ricketts said. “I will always fight to protect rural Main Street, Nebraska’s other small businesses, and all small business workers.”
“The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Senators with a demonstrated record of supporting America’s small and independent business owners,” NFIB President Brad Close said. “This Congress, small businesses faced tough economic headwinds, especially from inflation, labor shortages, and tax pressures at all levels of the government. We are proud to recognize Senators from the 118th Congress who stood up for Main Street by taking pro-small business votes that would reduce taxes, eliminate burdensome government mandates, lower health insurance costs, and fuel the Main Street economy.”
