ICYMI: Ricketts on Biden’s Foreign Policy Following Xi Meeting: “It’s All About Appeasement”
November 16, 2023
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE), a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, joined News Nation’s Leland Vittert to discuss President Biden’s summit with Chinese Communist Party dictator Xi Jinping.
“We’ve seen, you know, a parade of [Biden administration] officials going over to China to try and somehow mend these relationships after they put a Chinese spy balloon over our country… They send a spy balloon that violates our sovereignty and we’re the ones going there on bended knee to be able to repair the relationship,” Ricketts said. “This is just indicative of the way Biden runs his foreign policy. It’s all about appeasement. You cannot make these people happy. Xi is a dictator. And… dictators tell us what they’re going to do and Xi has laid that out very clearly. He wants to be the world dominating power by 2049.”
Ricketts touched on the Chinese Communist Party spy balloon flying over Nebraska earlier this year. He also outlined the cost of Biden’s appeasement-first foreign policy dating back to the Afghanistan withdrawal, including the death of Nebraskan Marine Corporal Daegan Page.
