Sen. Pete Ricketts announces he will run in 2024 election

LINCOLN, Neb. — U.S. and Nebraska Sen. Pete Ricketts has officially filed for his 2024 bid. 

Ricketts posted on social media on Tuesday that he was filing to finish his term.

The former Nebraska governor was appointed in 2022 to replace former U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse.

This year’s election will fill the seat for the remaining two years of the term.

Omaha activist Preston Love Jr. is set to officially kick off his campaign for the senate seat on Wednesday.
