Ricketts Statement on Jack Lew Confirmation Vote

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE), a member of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, released the following statement after he voted against Jack Lew to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Israel.

“Jack Lew’s Treasury Department tried to give Iran access to U.S. financial markets, even though Lew told Congress he was not. Israel, our closest ally, deserves an American ambassador that is an advocate not an appeaser. America needs an ambassador we can trust. Jack Lew’s not that person.”
