From the 1st Nebraska Militia in 1864 to the North Platte Canteen during World War II to hosting the U.S. Strategic Command today, Nebraska has a rich history of supporting our military. Each year Senator Pete Ricketts is proud to honor that tradition by recommending young men and women from across Nebraska to attend our United States service academies. Attending a U.S. service academy is a great honor. Ensuring talented Nebraskans of the highest moral character have the opportunity to be admitted is a responsibility Pete takes seriously. Please find more information and instructions on how to complete the nomination application below.
Due to the competitive nature of this process, our office encourages those interested to consider applying with other members of the Nebraska delegation. Senator Deb Fischer’s website can be accessed here, and you can find your U.S. House of Representatives member by looking up your zip code at House.gov.
To learn more about the service academy application and nomination process you can view a presentation here. For any questions about this process, please contact Pete’s office at Academy_Nominations@Ricketts.Senate.gov.
