Ricketts Announces Co-Sponsorships of Three Pro-Life Bills Following Nebraska March for Life
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following his attendance at the Nebraska March for Life this past weekend, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) announced his co-sponsorship of three major pieces of pro-life legislation. The three bills are:
- The “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” introduced by Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), would establish a permanent prohibition on federal funding for abortion, replacing the current restrictions with a single, government-wide standard;
- The “Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act,” introduced by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), would make it a federal crime for physicians to perform an abortion on a minor from another state without parental consent; and
- The “Support and Value Expectant (SAVE) Moms and Babies Act,” introduced by Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), would reinstate the in-person dispensing requirement for abortion drugs, blocking their remote distribution by mail or through telemedicine, and also improve reporting requirements for complications.
“I was proud to join the thousands of Nebraskans who braved the cold this weekend to make sure Lincoln and Washington know the pro-life movement’s fight has much left to accomplish,” said Senator Ricketts. “As Governor, I used every tool at my disposal to fight for life. These first legislation co-sponsorships serve as a reminder and a promise that I will continue to champion the pro-life movement in the U.S. Senate.”
